Bangkok, Thailand, 14 August 2018–Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. and the Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) presented grants to 24 winning teams of the Delta Angel Fund for Startup 2018. Mr. Kobchai Sungsitthisawad, Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) Director General, and Mr. Anusorn Muttaraid, Delta Executive Director of Electronics, presided over the award ceremony at the Department of Industrial Promotion Office.
For the third consecutive year, Delta offers sponsorships to Thailand’s up-and-coming entrepreneurs. This year’s fund awarded 4 million Baht in total, with up to 500,000 Baht for each winning proposal. Delta leverages the fund to support Thailand’s new generation of innovators and foster startup models developing advanced technology and product commercialization under the twin concepts of Green Solution for Thailand 4.0 and Advance Thailand's Industry with AI.
Over one hundred teams applied for the fund in February. Among these, 56 teams took part in a Delta workshop to polish their business strategy and product presentation. These teams presented their proposals to a committee of Delta managers, DIP experts and academics. Each team showcased their technical knowledge, entrepreneurial flair, sustainable vision and competitive spirit to the selection committee. After careful deliberation, the committee awarded funds to 24 of the most potential proposals.
Over the years, Delta prioritized training local talent. Today the company empowers the nation’s young innovators to drive the Thailand 4.0 transformation. Delta’s Angel Fund for Startup supports the hopes and aspirations of young people across the country and fulfills the Delta brand promise “Smarter. Greener. Together.”
