Bangkok, Thailand – September 13, 2024 – Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. announced the successful inauguration of its first Power E Lab at Kasetsart University. The opening ceremony, held on September 2, 2024, marks a significant step in Delta’s ongoing commitment to fostering sustainable growth and innovation through the development of skilled manpower, in line with government-supported projects and policies.
The Delta Power E Lab is a cornerstone of DET’s Research and Development (R&D) strategy, designed to cultivate a new generation of professionals equipped to drive the future of technology in Thailand. This initiative aligns with the strategic focus and policies of key government bodies, including the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), and the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE).
Mr. Yongyuth Pakdoungjan, Senior Director, Government and Public Affairs, emphasized, "We are thrilled to launch the first Power E Lab at Kasetsart University. This initiative is a critical part of our mission to empower the next generation of innovators in Thailand, ensuring they have the tools and training needed to succeed in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world."
The Delta Power E Lab at Kasetsart University is the third in a series of labs, following the first Power E Lab at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok in 2022 and the second Power E Lab at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in 2023. It is fully equipped with cutting-edge technology and instruments donated by Delta Electronics. These advanced tools will provide Thai engineering students with world-class testing facilities to develop power electronics and gain hands-on experience in advanced skills essential for Thailand’s high-tech industries.
The equipment provided will allow students to learn through practice, particularly as we focus on the mass trend of electric vehicles (EVs). This trend extends beyond the vehicles themselves to include components. Therefore, knowledge of converting AC to DC is essential, and this equipment will help students advance their understanding of these critical technologies.
Through partnerships with seven leading universities, Delta Thailand is creating a circular growth model that bridges the gap between academia and industry. This collaboration ensures that Delta not only contributes to sustainable development but also supports the continuous flow of talent needed to sustain Thailand’s growth in the high-tech sector.
Asst.Prof.Tanin Kongsila, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources and Strategies, added, “On behalf of Kasetsart University, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. for their invaluable collaboration in establishing the Power Electronics Laboratory at the Department of Electrical Engineering. This partnership marks a significant step forward in our shared commitment to advancing Thai academia and aligning educational growth with industrial needs. We are confident that this initiative will foster innovation, enhance learning opportunities, and contribute greatly to the future development of both our students and the broader industry. Thank you once again for your unwavering support and dedication to the growth of education and industry in Thailand.”
The Kasetsart University Power E Lab is the first in a series of labs planned for 2024. Delta Electronics Thailand announces the upcoming Power E Labs will be launched at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Chulalongkorn University, Burapha University, and Mahidol University, further extending our commitment to academic collaboration and young talent development.
