Delta, BOI and IEAT Hold Thai Supplier Event in Support of EV and Advanced Electronics Industry Localization

Bangkok, Thailand, April 3, 2024 – Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) collaborated to hold a business matching event for over 100 suppliers from 60 Thai companies at Delta’s Bangpoo headquarters. The Delta Sourcing Day 2024 aimed to match Delta with qualified Thai vendors and suppliers and seek opportunities for collaboration. This event is part of Delta’s localization strategy to build a resilient and sustainable supply chain to support advanced electronics and EV production in Thailand.

Mr. Victor Cheng Delta Thailand CEO, said, “We welcome collaboration with the BOI and IEAT to create a resilient and sustainable local supply chain that will benefit the economic and industrial development of Thailand. As part of our sustainability strategy, around 50% of our supply chain is local already and we target to have this ratio reach 80% in the next few years. Delta is rapidly expanding our R&D and production operations in this country and our door is always open to Thai suppliers. We also encourage international suppliers to come grow with us in Thailand.”

Ms. Patcharada Nawakawongkarn, Director of the Thai Enterprise Development Division at the BOI, thanked Delta for hosting the event and reaffirmed the BOI’s strategy to support Thai suppliers with partnership and know-how from global companies. Delta Supply Chain Management and Procurement managers then presented the company’s strategy, requirements and local content development. In addition, Delta R&D managers shared the company’s technology and product development roadmap for intelligent electronics production in Thailand.

After the presentations, the participating suppliers were invited to join a Q&A session with Delta managers and a tour of the company showroom. Here, Mr. Kasemson Kreuatorn, Delta’s Senior Regional Manager for Industrial Automation presented Delta’s unique Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions which use DIACloud communications, control and field devices for factory processes and building management.

After explaining Delta’s products and manufacturing development plans, Delta invited the suppliers to explore the IEAT and Delta booths in the company lobby. Each booth showcased specification details and requirements for industry-specific areas in Delta’s local manufactured products and parts open for local partner support.

Finally, Delta Thailand’s procurement and manufacturing management invited automotive and non-automotive suppliers to hold private discussions. The business matching meetings took place between Thai supplier and Delta teams divided into four segments: Electrical Engineering (EE), Electro-Mechanical (EM), Non-Metal (NM) and Mechanical Engineering (ME).
