Ministry of Industry and Delta Thailand Host Delta Angel Fund Awards and Industry Fair for Sustainable Development

Bangkok, September 29, 2023 – Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. and the Department of Industrial Promotion (DIProm) under the Ministry of Industry (MOI) hosted the DELTA ANGEL FUND 2023 and Industry Fair to promote sustainable development at Delta’s head office in Samut Prakan province. Both events aim to reinforce the MOI’s “MIND” strategy to boost the Thai manufacturing industry and develop startups along with local SMEs. Delta is the sole sponsor of the Delta Angel Fund, organized each year with DIProm, and hosts the MOI Industry Fair to boost prosperity and benefits between the manufacturing sector and the community business sector.

Mr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, said, “The Ministry of Industry has taken steps to urgently drive change based on the ‘MIND’ policy. The goal is to develop an economically viable industry that grows sustainably with the community through driving four dimensions: 1. Business success to transform the industrial economy and make entrepreneurs profitable in their businesses. 2. Well-being with society by promoting collaboration between business establishments, communities and society to live harmoniously together.3. Harmony with international standards caring for the environment as a green industry providing business opportunities and carbon neutrality 4. Distributing prosperity to the communities in where companies are located to build a resilient community with a better quality of life.”

Mr. Bainoy Suwanchatree, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Promotion, said, “DIProm is ready to drive the MOI policies to develop Thai industry and enterprises in 2023 through two key projects: 1. Delta Angel Fund for Startups held in collaboration with Delta Thailand for the 8th consecutive year aiming to incubate startups developing products and services in the S-curve sectors of the Thailand 4.0 plan. 2. Industry Fair which promotes products from SMEs who received loans from the SME Development Fund.”

Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, said “Delta prioritizes sustainable development which is why we invest in the next generation of entrepreneurs to accelerate development in the country. This is the 8th year in a row that we have partnered with DIProm to host the Delta Angel Fund for Startups. Over the years, Delta has provided funding of more than 28 million baht to over 300 teams that won competitions in the Angel Fund. This year, we are pleased to support 32 teams with 10 final teams chosen for outstanding projects in line with global megatrends. The Delta Angel Fund is a key part of the DIProm promotion activity that is expected to create an additional economic value of more than 56.5 million baht.”
