Delta Joins Industry and University Partners in MHESI and EEC-HDC Agreement for EEC Talent and Workforce Development

Bangkok, Thailand, July 11, 2022 - Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. joined seven universities and group of nine companies to sign a Memorandum of Academic Cooperation by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and EEC-HDC for talent and workforce development in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area.

Under the agreement, the MHESI and EEC-HDC will work with the partner companies to jointly develop a Master Class to train students at the partner universities. The MHESI developed the Cooperative and Work Integrated Education (CWIE) program aims to foster quality graduates that meet the needs of Thailand’s job market. The CWIE is aligned with the EEC Model Type A program developed by the EEC-HDC which works with higher education institutions and companies in the EEC area to develop a skilled workforce.

The following seven universities in this project will target the following industries in their specialized curriculums:

  1. Digital Industry
  2. Smart Electronics Industry
  3. Next-Gen Automotive Industry
  4. Robotics Industry
  5. Railway Industry
  6. Modern Agro-Business and Biotechnology Industry
  7. Logistics Industry

The following seven universities will include special training courses from the CWIE and EEC Model Type A programs:

  1. Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT)
  2. Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI)
  3. Prince of Songkla University (PSU)
  4. Burapha University
  5. Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi (RUS)
  6. Rajanagarindra Rajabhat University (RRU)
  7. Srinakharinwirot University

Delta is one of nine companies that are collaborating with the government to develop training courses and can support the students in terms of knowledge in technology aligned to megatrends and developing a global mindset for business and ESG strategy. An MHESI and EEC-HDC working group will conduct onsite visits to the partner companies to observe the students working and evaluate their learning performance. Onsite practical lessons will be recorded and modeled to include in the CWIE and EEC Model Type A Master Class.

Delta regularly partners with the Thai government for talent development. Delta and Burapha University signed an MOU in 2020, to jointly develop English training and another MOU in 2019 to offer Delta’s advanced automation training program for the first time in the EEC area. The Delta Automation Labs are in Thailand’s top universities including: Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and King Mongkut's University of Technology campuses in North Bangkok and in Thonburi.
