Delta and Burapha University Sign MOU to Develop English Language Competency Criteria for EEC Workforce Development

Chonburi, Thailand, September 2, 2020 - Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. and Burapha University signed an MOU for partnership and collaboration to develop an English language competency criteria for workforce development in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The collaboration includes the development of an English language continuing education program for Delta employees in EEC. Delta has an EEC manufacturing and R&D Center located in the Wellgrow Industrial Estate, Chachoengsao.

Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, and Associate Professor Dr. Watcharin Gasaluck, President of Burapha University, signed the MOU at the Office of the President, Burapha University. This second MOU between Delta and Burapha University, with support from the EEC-HDC, aims to prepare manpower in the EEC with English language skills to meet the needs of the Thailand 4.0 labor market.

In 2019, Delta Thailand and Burapha University signed an MOU to offer Delta’s advanced automation training program for the first time in the EEC. The new Delta Industrial Automation Lab, offers engineering students at Burapha University training with 12 advanced automation training kits donated by Delta.

Burapha University plays a key role in training skilled manpower and engineering talent to meet the strong demand from manufacturers in the EEC. Delta and the Faculty of Engineering collaborate to support the student’s professional growth and stipulate the future job opportunities in advanced engineering. The new English language program will help provide new opportunities for career development.

The Delta Automation Academy has already trained around 800 Thai engineering students and accepted another 200 trainees this year. Delta has set up Delta Automation Labs in Thailand’s top universities including: Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and King Mongkut's University of Technology campuses in North Bangkok and in Thonburi.
