Delta Hosts BOI to Discuss Public-Private Joint Projects to Support Thai SMEs and Startups

Bangkok, Thailand, August 24, 2020– Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. hosted a delegation from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and local government to discuss the Big Brother and Delta Angel Fund for Startups projects which Delta conducts in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry’s Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP).

Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, welcomed Ms. Vannipa Pipupchaiyasit, BOI Director of Regional Investment and Grassroots Development Unit, and the delegation to Delta’s Bangpoo headquarters. Mr. Yongyuth Pakdoungjan, Delta Senior Director of Government and Public Affairs Department, then introduced the Delta Automation Academy university projects and the Delta Angel Fund for Startups project.

After the introduction, Delta management and the BOI-led delegation sharing session discussed government-private sector joint projects to support local talent and business development. Both parties also discussed opportunities for greater collaboration on the Ministry of Industry’s Big Brother project to support Thai SME development. After the sharing session, Delta automation experts introduced Delta’s smart manufacturing and industrial automation solutions at the company showroom. 

Since 2016, Delta has worked with the Ministry of Industry’s DIP to foster local startup talent with the Delta Angel Fund for Startup. Last year Delta and the DIP signed an MOU to support the Big Brother project to enhance Thai SME competitiveness through technology. Delta welcomes collaboration with stakeholders for sustainable development and a resilient economy in Thailand.
