Delta Thailand Wins Top Prime Minister’s Best Industry Award 2023 for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Development

Bangkok, Thailand, January 8, 2024- Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. received the Prime Minister’s Best Industry Award, which is the highest honor above all other Prime Minister’s Industry Award categories given to only one select company each year. This is the second time Delta received this elite award since 2012 and is in recognition of the company’s outstanding long-term contributions towards Thailand's sustainable development policy goals with smart manufacturing solutions, talent development, community building and solutions for a low-carbon society.

H.E. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, will present the award to Delta at the year’s awards ceremony in 2024. Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, said, “As we celebrate 35 years of sustainable growth in Thailand, Delta is honored to receive this best-of-the-best category in the Prime Minister’s Industry award for the second time. Delta has continuously invested in the country as our regional hub for R&D, Production and Business with world-class innovation for global customers. Delta’s mission, to provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow, is the foundation of our strategy that aligns our business and innovation with global megatrends and the Thailand Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) Model.”

Since 1981, the Ministry of Industry selects outstanding industrial enterprises for the Prime Minister’s Industry Award to boost development and set role models for excellence in Thailand’s industry. The award aims to encourage companies to follow the award winner’s creative efforts and commitment to national industrial development. The award categories cover a variety of key aspects including energy, innovation, safety, environment, CSR.

All companies applying for the top Best Industry Award category must first win at least three sub-categories to qualify and only one company is selected for this top category each year. Delta applied for the 2023 Best Industry Award after winning the Prime Minister’s Industry Award in Potential Industry and CSR categories in 2018 and the Energy Management category in 2020.

This year’s Best Industry Award category recognizes Delta’s sustainable development strategy and all major milestones and actions that have driven development in Thailand’s industry as outlined in the government’s Thailand 4.0 policy and BCG model. The key success factors for Delta’s 2023 top recognition include:

• Product Innovation and Business Development: Delta’s high-efficiency power products for automotive, electronics and telecom applications support the Thailand 4.0 goals in the first s-curve industries of Next-Gen Automotive and Smart Electronics. Delta’s industrial robots, automation and networking products along with datacenter power products support the second s-curve industries of Automation and Robotics and Digital Economy.

• Talent Development: Delta invests in R&D and production operations and training of local engineers. The company offers PQM and upskilling training and scholarships for employees and works with top universities to set up industrial automation and power electronics labs with the latest equipment and training courses for local engineering students.

• ESG Development: Delta works with the Ministry of Industry, BOI and IEAT to support environment, social and governance (ESG) development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Delta developed and donated high efficiency DC motor fans for PPE devices. Delta developed and donated a flood prevention system to protect industrial zones and communities. Delta supports the community with the Delta Angel Fund for Startups, Smart Farm and SME support for local green businesses.

This is the eighth year for Delta to win the Prime Minister's Industry Award. The company has won the award in many categories including Productivity, Quality Management and Energy Management in 1995, 2010, 2011, 2020 and Potential Industry and CSR in 2018 and 2022. Delta has won two Prime Minister’s Best Industry Awards in 2012 and 2023.
