Bangkok, Thailand, March 2, 2023-Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. and SCG Cleanergy Co., Ltd. signed an MOU for cooperation in electric power technology services supporting Delta's smart green energy transition in accordance with RE100 and Net Zero carbon emission goals.
Representatives from both companies signed the MOU at the SCG head office in Bangkok. Mr. Attapong Sathitmanothum, SCG Cleanergy CEO, signed on behalf of SCG Cleanergy and Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, signed on behalf of Delta Thailand. Mr. Roongrote Rangsiyopash, SCG President and CEO, witnessed the signing.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Attapong Sathitmanothum, SCG Cleanergy CEO, said, “The business sector must participate in environmental conservation to support renewable energy, clean energy and alternative energy development. SCG Cleanergy’s goal is to provide integrated services to serve sustainable businesses in terms of carbon reduction to address global warming and achieve net zero emission ambitions. I am delighted that we are going to collaborate on this study and project development which will positively reflect on our future operations.”
Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, said, “Climate change and global warming are very real issues that impact everyone in Thailand and the world. That’s why Delta has a RE100 target of 100% renewable electricity throughout our entire global operations by 2030. Yet to achieve this ambitious goal in Thailand, we need the collaboration of key players like SCG Cleanergy. That's why today’s milestone agreement sends a strong message that we mean business when it comes to carbon reduction and achieving net zero to build a better tomorrow for Thailand.”
SCG Cleanergy is the energy business of Siam Cement Public Company (SCG) which is the largest and oldest cement and building material company in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The MOU aims for cooperation in studying the feasibility of business models and/or providing technology services in renewable energy including solar energy for factories and EV charging infrastructure.
Since its founding in 1913, SCG has grown continually and diversified into three core businesses, namely Cement-Building Materials Business, Chemicals Business and Packaging Business. In 2020, Delta Thailand and SCG Chemicals signed an MOU for joint business collaboration in the development of innovative industrial solutions for integrating hardware and advanced analytical software.
