Delta Electronics Thailand Wins S&P Global Bronze Class Sustainability Award 2022

Bangkok, Thailand, January 3, 2022 - Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. won the prestigious S&P Global Bronze Class distinction in its third consecutive year of S&P awards for excellent sustainability performance. Delta Thailand is once again the only Thailand-based company in the “Electronic Equipment, Instruments & Components” sector of the Sustainability Yearbook 2022.

Last year, Delta Thailand qualified as a constituent of the world-renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) 2021 in recognition of its superior environmental, social & governance (ESG) performance. Delta Thailand is the only Thailand company in the “ITC Electronic Equipment, Instruments & Components” industry segment in the 2021 DJSI index and is in both DJSI World and DJSI Emerging Markets region/country lists.

This year’s S&P Global Bronze Class Award is based on the results that qualified Delta on the DJSI World and DJSI Emerging Markets region/country lists. It follows two previous S&P Global Silver Class Awards and again confirms Delta Thailand’s position among the world’s highest performing sustainable companies and as the undisputed global sustainability leader in Thailand’s electronics industry.

S&P Global assessed over 7,500 companies in the 2021 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) with only 716 companies with top scores making it into the 2022 Yearbook. As a Bronze Class award winner, Delta Thailand is among the assessed companies with a score of at least 54 and within a range of 5% to 10% of the industry’s top-performing companies.

The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022 is based on the 2021 CSA of leading companies around the world in 61 industries, with 140,136 documents uploaded and 13,437,818 data entry points collected. In order to be listed in the Yearbook, companies must be within the top 15% of their industry and must achieve an S&P Global ESG Score within 30% of their industry’s top-performing company.

Created jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmark and tracks the stock performance of the world's leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. S&P Global published the Sustainability Yearbook 2020 in collaboration with RobecoSAM after S&P Global’s acquisition of the ESG Ratings business from RobecoSAM.

Since 2018, Delta Thailand drives sustainability by educating and soliciting cooperation from partners and suppliers for anti-corruption and circular economy. Delta’s extensive reporting and data collection help to measure and encourage recycled materials usage and carbon footprint tracking of its products. Its globally recognized role as a Thailand sustainability leader helps Delta drive green innovation for customers and deliver on its brand promise: Smarter. Greener. Together.
